Deadline for donations is today at 10 a.m.

Lyn Public School has kicked off its annual Harvest Sharing Food Drive in support of the local food bank, and this year’s focus is cereal — one of the most in-demand and appreciated items.

Brockville and Area Food Bank Manager, Amanda Petch says they are buying it on a weekly basis.

Local businesses and community members are being asked to help “fill the truck” with cereal donations before the deadline this morning at 10 a.m.

G.C. Hudson Supply is leading the way with 531 boxes of cereal already set aside. Organizers hope others will follow their lead to make this a record-breaking year for both the school and the food bank.

Petch says she can't thank the community enough.

Donations can be dropped off to Stephanie or Amy at 224 Hudson Point Road.

All cereal collected will go directly to help families in need.

The school says every box makes a difference — and now is the time to help neighbours in need.
