Brockville police lay string of charges after busy week of investigations

All accused are scheduled to appear in court on future dates

Brockville Police and the Ontario Provincial Police laid several charges following three separate investigations over a two-day period.

Police said officers arrested a 30-year-old wanted by the OPP on July 26 after locating him inside a vehicle at the Quickie convenience store on William Street. During the investigation, the 31-year-old driver failed a roadside alcohol screening test. Further testing confirmed impairment, leading to charges of operation while impaired and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams. His driver's licence was suspended.

On Tuesday (July 28), another driver, a 25-year-old man, was arrested during a R.I.D.E. program on Stewart Boulevard after failing a roadside screening test. Police suspended his licence, impounded the vehicle and laid impaired driving charges.

Earlier that day, officers also arrested a 63-year-old man following an intimate partner violence investigation. He was charged with assault and failing to comply with probation after police alleged he assaulted a woman despite existing no-contact conditions. All accused are scheduled to appear in court on future dates.
