Brockville Police golf tournament raises $7,000 for local food bank

The donation will help support the food bank's ongoing work in the community

The Brockville Police Association has raised $7,000 for the Brockville and Area Food Bank following the success of its annual golf tournament.

The association said the money was made possible through the generosity of golfers, sponsors, volunteers and community members who supported the fundraising event.

Association president April Muldoon and tournament coordinator Brenda Herbison recently presented the cheque to Food Bank Manager Allie.

The Brockville Police Association thanked everyone who helped make the tournament a success and recognized the continued support for the food bank, which serves residents across the Brockville area.

Dozens of local businesses, organizations and community partners sponsored the tournament, including Prescott Golf Club, Canadian Tire Brockville and Prescott, Home Hardware Brockville, McDonald's Brockville, Brockville Hyundai, Turgeon Law Professional Corporation and the Police Association of Ontario.

In a separate message, Brockville Police thanked association members for organizing what it described as a successful event.

The donation will help support the food bank's ongoing work in the community.
