The CBSA is reminding all travellers to know and follow Canadian laws when entering the country
A U.S. traveller was caught trying to enter Canada with an undeclared firearm and two prohibited magazines at the Prescott, Ont. port of entry, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) says.
CBSA officers found the items during a routine vehicle search. The traveller had not declared the firearm or the magazines, which are banned in Canada. Officers seized the weapon and magazines on the spot.
The traveller was issued a penalty and returned to the United States. No charges were laid.
The CBSA is reminding all travellers to know and follow Canadian laws when entering the country, especially rules about firearms and other weapons.
Bringing undeclared or prohibited items into Canada can lead to serious consequences, including fines, seizure of goods, or being denied entry.
