Environment Canada says the storms may bring wind gusts up to 100 kilometres per hour, torrential rain over 50 millimetres, and possibly even a tornado.
The storms are expected to arrive along a cold front this afternoon and move out of the province by evening.
Residents are warned to prepare for power outages and possible damage to buildings, trees and property. Flash flooding and poor visibility on roads are also possible.
