The series is expected to premiere in October
A new TV show called Skelton is being filmed in the Thousand Islands region and will debut this October.
The six-episode series follows two former drug smugglers called back for one last job. Created by Chad Noonan and developed by Brockville’s Beattie Film, the show mixes crime drama with humour.
Episodes are fictional but inspired by real Prohibition-era events in the area. Noonan says the tone is similar to Ozark, but with funny side characters.
Filming is underway at local spots like Blockhouse Island, Tar Island, and the 1000 Islands Mini Golf Centre.
Named after Skelton Island, the show stars mostly local standup comedians. The drug props look so real that police are notified before filming.
This is Beattie Film’s first scripted TV series. Each episode runs 15–20 minutes. A second season is possible if the show is a hit.
