In one of North Grenville’s largest infrastructure projects to date

The opening of two new lanes on the County Road 43 bridge marks a major milestone in one of North Grenville’s largest infrastructure projects. Officials from all levels of government gathered Monday to celebrate the event, which signals major progress on the County Road 43 Expansion Project.

Led by the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, in partnership with the Municipality of North Grenville and supported by both provincial and federal funding, the project aims to improve safety, traffic flow, and accessibility for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.

The expansion will widen County Road 43 through Kemptville to four lanes, add multi-use pathways, upgrade intersections and lighting, and replace the Kemptville Creek bridge.

While two lanes of the new southern span are now open, work continues on the remaining lanes, with full completion expected by 2027. The bridge is a key step in modernizing Kemptville’s busiest transportation corridor.
