Chris Curry is their Program Director of Planning and Implementation
September is Suicide Prevention Month and it's being recognized locally by Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Addictions and Mental Health.
Chris Curry, Program Director of Planning and Implementation talks about their theme for the month.
Curry says suicide is not a crime and a case of it should be referred to as "death by suicide", rather than "committed suicide".
Shockingly in Ontario, suicide is the second leading cause of death for teens 15-19.
Curry says it's a very troubling statistic that LLGAMH is trying to improve.
He adds that the work needs to continue with more help in the school system and more mental health professionals being available.
People who need help are encouraged to reach out.
