
Charges laid after chase
A street disturbance involving a group of youths led to multiple arrests and serious charges on Tuesday, July 8th near James and Bartholomew Streets.
Around 9 p.m., police received several 911 calls reporting a man being chased after threats to stab him. Officers found several individuals spread across nearby streets.
Police say the incident began when a group of youths, aged 13 to 21, got into an argument that turned physical. A 21-year-old man allegedly threatened to stab a 19-year-old victim and slapped him. Moments later, a 13-year-old boy reportedly showed a knife from his waistband and also made threats.
The victim ran, prompting both suspects to chase him, triggering panic among others in the area.
Police arrested both individuals. The 21-year-old was charged with assault and uttering threats and released with conditions. The 13-year-old faces weapons-related charges and remains in custody for a bail hearing.
No serious injuries were reported.
