A formal complaint was filed with the Upper Canada District School Board
A kindergarten teacher in Leeds County is facing serious allegations after an anonymous online petition accused them of making an unscheduled stop during a school field trip in May 2024.
The petition, posted by a parent, claims the teacher led students to a public splash pad without parental consent and told them to play in their underwear. The stop was not part of the original “Touch a Truck” itinerary. Parents were reportedly not notified in advance and had no chance to opt out.
A formal complaint was filed with the Upper Canada District School Board. The board confirmed the complaint but would not share details, calling it a confidential personnel matter. It said all allegations are investigated and addressed.
The Leeds County OPP said no police investigation is underway. The parent said the school principal apologized and confirmed the incident. The teacher, off during 2024–2025, is expected to return this fall.
