A heat warning remains in effect for the Brockville–Prescott area, with dangerously high temperatures and humidity continuing through tomorrow night (July 29).
Daytime highs are expected to reach between 30 and 33°C, with humidex values climbing as high as 42. Nighttime temperatures will remain near 20°C, offering little relief from the heat.
Environment Canada warns today may bring the hottest conditions, though cooler temperatures are expected by Wednesday.
Health officials urge residents to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activity during peak heat, and check on vulnerable individuals like older adults or those living alone.
Early signs of heat exhaustion include dizziness, nausea, and dark urine. Heat stroke is a medical emergency.
Close blinds, use air conditioning or fans, and seek out public cooling spaces if needed.
