The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) has named Jesse Winchester its new League Commissioner.

Winchester has deep ties to the league as a former player with the Cornwall Colts (2001-2004) before moving on to play four years at Colgate University. Afterwards, the Long-Sault native enjoyed a successful playing career appearing in 285 NHL games with 233 of them as a member of the Ottawa Senators.

Those ties also extend to coaching with the Brockville Braves winning back-to-back coach of the year awards in 2017-18 and 2018-19.

He says taking on this role was a no-brainer.

When asked about the current state of the Braves, he thinks everyone in the organization works incredibly hard and says Brockville is a special town.

The Braves open their 2025-26 regular-season against the Carleton Place Canadians on September 19 at the Brockville Memorial Centre.
