The morning of July 11th
A youth has been charged after allegedly riding an electric dirt bike dangerously through a busy Brockville intersection.
On the morning of July 11, 2025, around 9:30 a.m., police spotted a dirt bike speeding near Parkedale Avenue and North Augusta Road.
The vehicle had no licence plates, and the rider was not following traffic laws.
When officers stopped the dirt bike, they discovered the youth had no valid driver’s licence or insurance.
The Brockville Police Service says the bike was removed from the road and the youth now faces multiple charges, including driving an off-road vehicle on a highway, without insurance, without a plate, and without a licence.
The rider was issued a court date, and their parents were notified.
Police say complaints about electric bikes being used dangerously have recently increased, especially in pedestrian areas.
Officials remind the public that all motorized vehicles must follow traffic laws.
