Crews deal with weekend storm

City and County Crews cleared roads and dealt with ice

Brockville and County crews were busy cleaning up snow and ensuring roads and sidewalks were safe following this weekend’s storm.

Despite the heavy snow, traffic around the city was light, with many heeding warnings to stay home.

Brockville Police and OPP monitored regional roads, responding to any collisions.

Fortunately, the city avoided significant power outages, though areas west of Brockville, like Kingston, were hit harder. Icy branches took down power lines, causing outages in these areas.

The wintery weather seems to be clearing up, with temperatures expected to rise above zero for the week. Some areas could see temperatures in the teens today and Wednesday.

With the worst of the storm behind them, residents can expect easier travel and milder conditions, hopefully until next winter.
