Summer Covey has been named the 2025 recipient of the Kevin Dunbar Memorial Scholarship Athletic Award. The Brockville-area student was selected from applicants across Leeds and Grenville, Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington.
The $3,000 scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school student who excels in cross-country or endurance running and is pursuing post-secondary education in the fall.

The scholarship honours Kevin Dunbar, a former Thousand Islands Secondary School (TISS) standout. Dunbar won multiple OFSAA medals, ran NCAA Division I track at the University of Minnesota, and later became a lawyer in Kingston.
After his passing in 2022, family and friends created the scholarship to remember his legacy as a decorated athlete, dedicated coach, and committed volunteer in the local running community.
