Brockville opens registration for Coldest Night of the Year 2026

A nationwide fundraising walk taking place Saturday, Feb. 28th

Registration is now open for the Coldest Night of the Year 2026, a nationwide fundraising walk taking place Saturday, Feb. 28.

Nearly 200 Canadian cities will join the event, which raises funds for local programs serving people experiencing hurt, hunger and homelessness.

In Brockville, the John Howard Society of Kingston & District (JHSKD) is aiming to raise $36,000 for its Connect Youth and housing programs in Leeds and Grenville.

Participants can walk on-site at 125 Stewart Blvd. or fundraise and walk offsite with family and friends.

The family-friendly lap-style walk includes rest stops, refreshments, and route support.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and pets are not permitted except for trained service animals.

Walkers who raise $150 or more will receive a CNOY toque.

Organizers encourage community members to register, sponsor a walker, or volunteer to support the cause.
