Winning recipes will inspire Thanksgiving meals in regional hospitals this year
Brockville General Hospital has taken home top honours after hosting the first-ever Compass Group Canada Great Plate-Off on September 18.
The friendly regional competition brought together chefs from The Ottawa Hospital, Cornwall Community Hospital, Kemptville District Hospital, and Brockville General to show off their culinary creativity.
Teams were challenged to prepare a three-course Thanksgiving-themed meal using only ingredients available through the Compass order guide, while staying within a set budget. Dishes were judged on presentation, creativity, and how well they fit the holiday theme.
“It was an incredible day of collaboration, competition, and networking for our Compass staff from across the southeast region,” said Jane, General Manager for Nutritional Services.
After a close contest, Brockville General claimed the overall trophy. Cornwall Community Hospital won Most Creative Meal, Kemptville District Hospital earned Spiciest Meal, and The Ottawa Hospital received the Best Team Player award.
