With tariffs and other changes impacting the rental environment and cost of living continuously rising, the Brockville and Area Food Bank has more people coming to them for support.
Food Bank Manager, Amanda Petch says visits in July were up 49% from last year.
Petch says there's some concern, but emphasizes how lucky they are to have the support from the community and their volunteers.
However, Petch adds that they need more support from the provincial and federal governments.
The food bank relies on donations to service those in need, and those donations can be made during our All Hands on Deck Food Drive this Thursday (Aug. 21) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Real Canadian Superstore.
