Starting at 7 a.m. this morning
Brockville drivers are being warned to plan ahead as the Ormond Street CN railway crossing will be closed for track maintenance this weekend.
The City of Brockville says it was notified by CN Railway yesterday (Oct. 2) that the crossing will shut down at 7 a.m. and remain closed until repairs are complete. Work is expected to finish by tomorrow evening (Oct. 4).
CN says the repairs will address track bounce and improve safety by ensuring smoother vehicle travel. No asphalt work is planned at the site.
Detour routes will be in place, but traffic may be slower than usual. The city is also reminding residents that the Perth Street crossing is under repair at the same time. Drivers are advised to use Stewart Boulevard, North Augusta Road, Oxford Avenue or Park Street.
