The Dare 2 Care family fun day is this Saturday
Last month, the Brockville and Area Food Bank received backing from city council after declaring state of emergency when it comes to food insecurity.
Food Bank Manager Amanda Petch says the numbers are scary.
Petch adds that relying on charities isn't enough, and that federal and provincial governments need to step in as well.
This Saturday (July 26), the Brockville and Area Food Bank is having their 'Dare 2 Care' Family Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hardy Park.
Admission is free and Petch says it's a way to say thanks.
There will be live entertainment, raffles, prizes, kids games and more.
