Wren plans to meet with CN Rail officials to discuss the badly uneven railway crossing at Perth Street
The William Street overpass is almost ready to reopen after months of construction. The critical infrastructure project caused delays and detours for many drivers, but crews are now in the final stretch.
Thanks to the hard work of contractors and trades workers, the project is ahead of schedule. The city expects the overpass to be fully reopened by Labour Day weekend, bringing relief to drivers who’ve been stuck waiting at train crossings.
City officials thanked residents for their patience throughout the work.
Meanwhile, Brockville Mayor Matt Wren is in Ottawa this week for the annual Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) conference. While there, he plans to meet with CN Rail officials to discuss the badly uneven railway crossing at Perth Street and ask when repairs will begin.
The William Street project is part of a broader effort to improve road safety and traffic flow in Brockville.
