The awards don't stop for this Edwardsburgh Cardinal resident
Sheila Bush has been named the 2025 Ontario Senior of the Year for the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal.
Sheila was honoured at a special Council meeting on June 30. The award celebrates her years of community service, leadership and athletic success.
Born Sheila Murray in New Brunswick, she moved to Ontario to study nursing. She worked over 25 years as a labour and delivery nurse in Winchester. Alongside her late husband Ken, she raised eight children while staying active in sports and local groups.
Sheila has coached girls' hockey and fastball, served as president of the Spencerville Agricultural Society, and is a proud supporter of the Highland Games.
Now 90, Sheila is also a top senior golfer. She recently won gold at the Ontario, Canadian, and Canada 55+ Games. She’ll represent Canada this fall at the Huntsman World Senior Games in Utah.
