Impaired driving charge laid

Brockville Police responded to a call on March 9 about a 38-year-old woman whose vehicle became stuck in a snowbank on Cedar Street. Witnesses reported that she appeared to have difficulty speaking.

Officers located the woman nearby and conducted a roadside breath test, which resulted in a fail. She was arrested and taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing, confirming she was impaired.

Her vehicle was impounded, and her driver’s license was suspended. She faces charges of impaired operation and having a blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.

The woman was released with a future court date as police continue efforts to prevent impaired driving and keep roads safe.
