Brockville approves zoning changes
Brockville is set to get more housing options for seniors after City Council approved a zoning bylaw amendment for 100 Stewart Boulevard.
The plan allows a 5-storey, 65-unit apartment building with underground parking in place of a northern parking area. With current units fully leased, the move aims to ease the growing demand for senior living.
Another zoning amendment at 10-16 Church Street will transform a storage building into a 12-unit affordable apartment complex. The project includes demolishing 16 Church Street to improve access. The development is expected to provide much-needed affordable housing and revitalize the area.
These changes come as Brockville continues to see high housing demand, particularly for seniors and lower-income residents. City officials say both projects will help address shortages while supporting community growth.
