Police investigating
Brockville Police responded to multiple calls at the YMCA Youth Night on Park Street on March 7 around 9:00 p.m. Officers were initially told a 16-year-old male had sprayed another youth with pepper spray.
Police determined the incident began when a female youth confronted the male over comments made about her. The situation escalated, leading to the male spraying the female in the eyes. It was later confirmed that the substance used was Axe body spray, not pepper spray, but it caused significant discomfort and required medical attention.
The male, who was already on probation, was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, and failure to comply with probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
